Preventive Care Goals
Specific preventive care goals for those with hypertension and depression are not yet available. The preventive care provided to those with hypertension and depression will be compared with those goals currently set for the general population. An excellent source of current preventive care guidelines is available from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), an independent panel of experts in primary care and prevention that systematically reviews the evidence of effectiveness and develops recommendations for clinical preventive services.
Specific preventive care goals for those with diabetes and asthma have been set. Note that these preventive care goals are higher than those set for the general population. These higher goals will be used for the evaluation of CAP members with diabetes or asthma.
